The Heritage String Quartet is northeast Wisconsin's busiest and most versatile string quartet, playing in and around Green Bay, Appleton and the Fox Valley. We've been together as a quartet since 1980, and have played for more than 700 weddings. We offer our customers a wealth of practical and artistic experience, as well as a large library of music ranging from the classical quartet literature to popular songs. In a typical year, we play 50 engagements of all kinds, including wedding services, receptions, dinner music and corporate events. We've been active and successful for more than 25 years because we consistently provide what customers want:

What is a String Quartet?

A string quartet is the smallest possible string orchestra, consisting of two violins, a viola and a cello. One of the violins usually plays the melody, while the other plays a lower harmony part corresponding to the alto voice in a choir. The viola, which resembles a large violin, is pitched still lower and has its own distinct tone quality that is vital to the overall sound of the quartet. The cello plays the lowest notes, similar to the bass voice in a choir, but may also play the melody.

Heritage String Quartet Fees

Our fee for a full wedding ceremony in the Green Bay-De Pere area is $700, which includes the wedding performance, the wedding music sampler CD, working with you in advance to decide on the music to be played, and sending a player to your wedding rehearsal to make sure everything goes smoothly during the service. At a typical wedding, we play a 15-minute prelude, a processional, music as desired during the service, a recessional and a postlude as your guests are leaving the church.

Our fee for other kinds of occasions, such as receptions and dinners, is $450 for the first hour and $400 for succeeding hours. For travel to all engagements outside the Green Bay, De Pere area, we charge $1.50 per mile round trip. A member of the quartet will attend your wedding rehearsal at no additional charge. A fee of $150 is charged for accompanying singers and other soloists at your wedding, to cover the cost of rehearsing with the performer and writing a quartet arrangement of the accompaniment.
